The Umm el-Jimal project is creating two teacher’s reference manuals: the Arabic reference manual, to be implemented in Jordan’s government schools and created in partnership with the Ministry of Education, and an English reference manual to be made available to American teachers. The Arabic teacher’s manual is being developed with Muntaha Abdullat and Abdel Kareem Zaradat, specialists in the development of history and curriculum in the Ministry of Education. The lesson plans are divided into the subjects of arts and architecture, civics, geology, and history, and the organized of three sections: outcomes, strategy, and evaluation. This is the proper format for Jordan lesson plans.
The teacher’s reference manual includes two sections, a background section and a series of lesson plans:*
