While the Department of Antiquities of Jordan is completing an on-site museum and visitor center, the Umm el-Jimal Archaeology Project is exploring ways to expand the site’s educational value beyond the confines of its geographical location. A variety of online measures are currently underway, including creating a virtual reality tour, artifact highlights, curriculum materials, and planning for a possible traveling exhibition. Finally, staff are also investigating the potential of mobile technology to link the physical site of Umm el-Jimal with virtual resources.
